Ella Doran for Surface Matter Material World print

Ella Doran and Surface Matter share a love of materials and how they shape the world around us. These monochromatic circles are inspired by a deeper meaning; a complete approach to how we bring together people and ideas through a spectrum of materials. When the materials meet, they mix textures, light and transparency, overlapping experiences where they intersect. Each connection creates little surprises and new visions, much like what comes from working together in collaboration.

Our second collaboration with Ella Doran Design, we like the way this pattern captures the wonder of materials. Each sphere represents a singular material and many materials at the same time. The layers and translucency play with light, creating depth and movement through the world of materials. This circular pattern will be adapted across different applications, including a screen printed china mug that you can buy on our online shop.
