Vibrant glamour
New Battersea restaurant JOIA channels the glamour of art deco. Russell Sage Studio use gem tones and midcentury flourishes to design a playful, joyful space made for long evenings of good food and drinks. Durat Palace colours Martini and Gin Daisy add to the mix of flowing curves and soft colours to emulate a new type of contemporary luxury with sustainable solid surfaces. JOIA translates to ‘jewel’ in Portuguese, and this echoes on to the shimmering colour speckles of the Durat Palace table tops with mineral pigments, which are from a 17th century paint mill.
