Richlite materials meet new sustainability standards achieving Declare certification as part of the Living Building Challenge. Introduced by the International Living Future Institute, Declare certified products support the proven performance standards of the Living Building Challenge which focuses on the relationship between impact and effort. A regenerative design framework with an aim to create spaces that give more than they take – Living Buildings are self-sufficient, create a positive impact and connect occupants to light, air, food, nature and community. The 'nutrition label for products', Declare is a transparency platform and product database that answers where a product comes from, what it's made of and where it goes at the end of its useful life.

Launched in 2012, Declare is a simple way for manufacturers and specifiers to declare and compare materials, enabling a future of healthier buildings. In 2019, ILFI released Living Building Challenge 4.0 and Core Green Building Certification. Releasing Declare 2.0 in February 2020, they expanded the holistic approach with improved labels clearly indicating the disclosed ingredients, compliance with Living Building Challenge criteria, carbon data reporting and any chemicals or ingredients of concern. This third-party verification continues Richlite's commitment to transparency, material health and a reduced environmental impact, its Declare 2.0 Certification sits well with Richlite's UL Environmental Product Declaration and Healthy Product Declaration 2.2.
